Our Church

At Southminster C of E Primary School, we are extremely lucky to have such a strong link with our local church, St Leonard’s. Our staff and pupils are regularly invited to church services and special events throughout the year which are often tailored to meet the needs of our school. Rvd. Peter Begley is one of our school governors and is regularly coming to visit and support us wherever needed. He has developed a fantastic relationship with both the staff and pupils. Every Wednesday, we have a member of the church, usually Rvd. Peter or Rvd. Ken, deliver our whole school Collective Worship, this allows the children to hear new stories and view the church from a different perspective.

As part of being a member of the Southminster Community, we as a school have access to the Hackblock Educational Charity funding which is a fund set up to support schools and local educational settings to promote skills, employment prospects and self-reliance in young people, as individuals, or in a group.

We feel very supported by our local church and look forward to further developments in the future.
